MeetingPack 2026 presenta su programa con soluciones innovadoras en envases barrera para una economía circular

MeetingPack 2026, the benchmark event for innovation in barrier packaging, will hold its seventh edition on 21–22 April 2026 at the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum in Valencia. Under the theme Barrier packaging solutions: a challenge for the circular economy, the conference will bring together specialists, companies and key stakeholders from across the packaging value chain to address the challenges and opportunities arising from the transition towards more sustainable models.

A meeting point for innovation in sustainable packaging

Organised by the technology centres AINIA and AIMPLAS, MeetingPack 2026 consolidates its position as the leading forum to discover the latest trends in barrier packaging materials and solutions. Over two days, the event will feature a comprehensive programme of presentations, panel discussions and success stories focused on sustainability, innovation and alignment with circular economy objectives.

The congress is aimed at packaging, materials and packaging equipment manufacturers, distribution companies, multinational food groups, public authorities, food law specialists and research professionals.

Eight sessions to address sector challenges

The final programme is structured into eight thematic sessions delivered by around thirty experts, covering topics ranging from the development of innovative materials to strategies for meeting the sustainability targets set out in EU Regulation 2025/40. The seventh edition of MeetingPack will open with a session dedicated to innovative materials for sustainable packaging production. Leading companies such as ITP-TPL and MITSUBISHI will present their latest developments, followed by an address by Senior Marketing Manager Retail & Sustainability EMEA at APA, Marta Lara, who will explore how to strike the right balance between recyclability and functionality in advanced packaging.

The morning will continue with a session focused on sustainability in flexible barrier packaging, moderated by Sales Director Spain & LATAM at MORCHEM, Antoni Segovia. Contributions will come from LEYGATECH and QUIMÓVIL. In addition, COMEXI will present efficient industrial solutions for applying barrier coatings, while FAKOLITH will share progress in hygienic, water-based coatings designed to reduce environmental impact. The session will conclude with ROTORPRINT, analysing the challenges and opportunities involved in the transition towards recyclable structures.

In the afternoon, attention will turn to innovations in rigid barrier packaging, with a presentation by TOTALENERGIES CORBION on Luminy® innovation and its PLA bead foam packaging solutions. This will be followed by a round table on packaging strategies to meet 2030 targets, featuring food sector specialists such as Platos Tradicionales and AECOC.

The second day will reopen the discussion on innovative materials in a session moderated by MONDI, with proposals from QUIMÓVIL, NOVAMONT and AVANTIUM, the latter presenting next-generation materials developed from captured CO₂. The programme will then address end-of-life and recyclability in a panel moderated by ENPLATER, with presentations on monomaterial solutions for animal feed (FCO GROUP), new generations of materials (Sovena Group) and real recyclability of advanced PE/PA films (UBE). The agenda will be completed with a block dedicated to reuse and new business models, where AIMPLAS, AINIA, Germaine de Capuccini, FYCH Technologies and RecyClass will share initiatives aimed at advancing towards a truly circular economy. Finally, a round table will bring together representatives from distribution, retail and consumer organisations to discuss packaging trends and needs, led by HISPACOOP.

A space for collaboration and technology transfer

MeetingPack 2026 will also provide an opportunity to foster collaboration between industry, technology centres and institutions, promoting knowledge transfer and the development of solutions aligned with current regulatory and environmental challenges. Dedicated networking spaces, including the congress dinner and the exhibition area reserved for sponsors, will support these objectives.

Industry backing and international visibility

MeetingPack 2026 is supported by leading companies in the sector such as ENPLATER GROUP, TOTALENERGIES CORBION, ADVANCED PACKAGING ASSOCIATION (APA), MORCHEM, LEYGATECH, LECTA and NOVAMONT as Gold sponsors, as well as FAKOLITH, MONDI, COMEXI and MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL EUROPE as Silver sponsors. Bronze sponsors include TPL, GRUPALIA 4.0, FAERCH and QUIMÓVIL.
