IVACE – FEDER SAFEFOOD

IVACE – FEDER
16 September, 2021

Objective

The overall objective of the SAFEFOOD project is to develop new technological tools to strengthen food safety programmes in agri-food companies, which will consequently result in greater protection of consumer health.

To achieve the overall objective of the project, the following specific objectives are proposed:

  • Strengthen on-line food safety control through research into optoelectronic systems based on hyperspectral vision technology for the microbiological characterisation of products during processing.
  • Strengthen off-line food safety control through research into diagnostic systems based on biosensor technology for the detection of microbiological risks in food.
  • Validate the research results with companies in the Valencian Community through the development of two application prototypes in the meat and fruit and vegetable sectors.
  • Disseminate the knowledge generated and the high potential of the key enabling technologies (KET) investigated, both to companies and citizens in the Valencian Community.
  • Promote the implementation of the key enabling technologies investigated in the agri-food sector of the Valencian Community through the transfer of results to business reality.

Activities

  1. Evaluation of hyperspectral vision technology
  2. Validation of hyperspectral vision applied to meat products
  3. Dissemination of research results in hyperspectral vision
  4. Interim project evaluation
  5. Evaluation of biosensor technology
  6. Validation of biosensors applied to plant products
  7. Dissemination of research results in biosensors
  8. Transfer of results in hyperspectral vision
  9. Transfer of results in biosensors
  10. Final project evaluation
