Emerging Risk Identification Service
Identify emerging risks that may impact your company's operations in advance
We understand an emerging risk to be the appearance of a new food hazard (biological or chemical) that is integrated or potentially capable of being integrated into the food chain, and which is generally not covered by current food legislation.
Advisory services on emerging risks focus on a strategic business approach, aimed at identifying and developing scenarios that may arise in the short, medium or long term due to the emergence of new food hazards that could potentially have a negative impact on the organisation’s activities.
Food legislation provides for the identification of emerging risks through Regulation 178/2002 and Law 17/2011 on food safety and nutrition. In this regard, the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) is the body responsible for coordinating the actions necessary for the identification and assessment of emerging risks, using the tools available at national and international level, particularly following the guidelines of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
At AINIA, we add value
- Comprehensive project in the food industry and other related sectors.
- We have been part of AESAN's National Emerging Risks Network since its creation in 2014.
- Comprehensive approach: in addition to identifying emerging risks, we also provide advice on how to minimise or reduce them from a technical perspective.
- In-depth knowledge of the food sector and related sectors.
- Prevention of food safety incidents and alerts.
Emerging Risk Identification Service
- The system for identifying and controlling emerging agri-food risks makes it possible to identify in advance the emerging risks that may affect the company's activities and therefore help it minimise the potential impact these risks may have when they emerge.
- The methodologies applied to emerging risk analysis integrate technological and foresight tools, particularly the development of software tools for monitoring information on the Web, the methodology for horizon scanning (Horizon Scanning) and scenario development (foresight).
- Along these lines, we work on emerging risk analysis projects so that the stakeholders involved in the food system can implement preventive measures (improvement plans, new policies, preliminary food regulations, etc.) to reduce or eliminate the occurrence and/or impact of these risks.
