Objective
To design, develop and implement comprehensive technological solutions for water purification, management and reuse, with particular emphasis on industrial and urban wastewater, within the integrated water cycle; in order to ensure efficient and sustainable management of water resources in the Valencian Community, aimed at meeting requirements for clean and resource-efficient technologies.
The project seeks to strengthen the water resilience of the production system through the reuse of its wastewater and treated effluent, optimising their use in industrial processes and other strategic applications, reducing pressure on water bodies and decreasing dependence on conventional water resources in the Valencian region. It also aims to ensure environmental and human health and safety by minimising the presence of critical contaminants in water discharges into the environment, preventing the degradation of aquatic ecosystems and the associated health risks.
Activities
- Design of technological solutions: Development and sizing of innovative technologies for water treatment, reuse and sustainable management, including circular economy solutions, green hydrogen production and digital decision-support tools.
- Integration of technological solutions: Construction and commissioning of demonstrators integrating the developed technologies, adapting them to real operational and industrial conditions for their joint evaluation.
- Validation of technological solutions: Assessment of the performance and viability of the technologies through tests using real wastewater and materials, demonstrating their effectiveness and potential for industrial application.
- Verification of AQUA2VAL-II: Final verification of compliance with the project’s objectives, checking both the safety and quality of the treated water and the usefulness of the digital map in supporting decision-making.
- Definition of strategic models for water resilience and the circular economy: Development of models and supporting tools to optimise water reuse, waste valorisation and the implementation of circular economy and water resilience strategies in industry.
