AINIA has launched six new R&D&I projects with the support of IVACE+i and ERDF funds. The projects will develop new solutions in strategic areas such as artificial intelligence, industrial digitalisation, the bioeconomy, sustainable water management and advanced contaminant detection, with the aim of improving the competitiveness and sustainability of companies in the Comunitat Valenciana, within the framework of the Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP).

Artificial intelligence and digitalisation for a more resilient industry

The RAPIDES project (Food and Health Resilience in Emergencies through Distributed AI and Synthetic Data), developed by AINIA in collaboration with ITI, investigates solutions based on distributed artificial intelligence and synthetic data to improve the capacity to anticipate and respond to emergency situations. The objective is to analyse information from different sources to facilitate decision-making in scenarios such as food alerts, supply problems or situations requiring rapid coordination of resources.

Also in collaboration with ITI, AIDIME, AIJU, AIMPLAS, AITEX, INESCOOP and ITE, AINIA will participate in the MULTIPASS project (Modular and Multisectoral European Digital Product Passport Solution for Valencian Industry), which will develop an advanced digital infrastructure to facilitate the implementation of the Digital Product Passport by companies. The solution will combine interoperability, traceability, digital identity and artificial intelligence technologies to securely manage, the information associated with products throughout their life cycle and contribute to the adaptation of Valencian industry to new European requirements.

Bioeconomy and circular economy to make better use of resources

In the field of agri-food bioeconomy, BIOTEGRA (Biotechnological Solutions for the Development of an Agri-food Bioeconomy), developed by AINIA in collaboration with AIMPLAS, will investigate biotechnological solutions aimed at moving towards more sustainable and circular production models. The project will address the development of new solutions based on biotechnological processes to promote better use of resources and generate higher value-added products for the agri-food sector.

For its part, BIOPROGAS (Development of bioprocesses for obtaining intermediate bioproducts from biogenic gases), developed by AINIA in collaboration with INESCOP, will focus on the use of biogenic gases through biotechnological processes. The objective is to advance the transformation of these gases into biomass and intermediate bioproducts with potential applications in different industrial sectors, thereby contributing to decarbonisation and the development of new circular economy models.

New technologies for more sustainable and efficient water use

AQUA2VAL II (Validation of Circular and Innovative Technologies for Optimising Water Use in Valencian Industry) is being developed in collaboration with ITC, AITEX, AIJU, ITE, ITI, INESCOP, AIMPLAS and AIDIMME. The project seeks to advance the development and validation of innovative technologies for water management, treatment and reuse in different industrial sectors.

AQUA2VAL II will help promote more efficient and circular use of water resources, reduce the presence of contaminants and strengthen the capacity of Valencian industry to address the challenges associated with water availability and sustainable water management.

Intelligent contaminant detection to strengthen safety

Finally, PRISMA-D (Intelligent multisensor platform for the rapid detection of toxins and chemical-biological threats on surfaces and in complex matrices), developed by AINIA in collaboration with ITE and INESCOP, will combine advanced detection technologies, sensors and artificial intelligence to rapidly identify toxins and chemical and biological threats on surfaces and in complex matrices.

These six projects reflect AINIA’s commitment to the development of advanced technological solutions that help boost companies’ competitiveness and address challenges such as digital transformation, industrial resilience, the bioeconomy, the sustainable use of resources and safety.

The six projects are aimed at the demonstration and/or validation, in a relevant or real environment, of critical technologies within the framework of the Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP), and are supported by IVACE+i and ERDF funds.
