IVACE – ERDF SIMBYNET: Industrial symbiosis initiatives portal of the Valencian Community.

Objective

The project aims as its general objective to strengthen Industrial Symbiosis in the Community, through the development of a portal to promote Industrial Symbiosis Initiatives in companies in the Valencian Community through an integrating architecture of specific modules that enhances intersectoral collaboration between companies. The project will include the development of three demonstrators to serve as a model for industrial symbiosis actions.

In addition, this project will focus on the following aspects, on the one hand:

– On the research, analysis and detection of advanced sectoral and intersectoral functionalities of industrial companies in the Valencian Community in the field of Industrial Symbiosis: SIMBYNET framework. The implementation of SIMBYNET-ECO (from ecosystem), as a prototype of a portal, modular ecosystem, to validate on a small scale with companies the value of the SIMBYNET framework and possibilities for automating its processes.

– And on the development of three specific demonstrators for each industrial sector for the implementation of IS actions in order to show companies their applicability.

Results

Detection of advanced functionalities in industrial symbiosis according to the needs of the agri-food sector.
Development of the symbinet prototype: development of the base SYMBINET prototype through the implementation and adaptation of its different components and integration of the different SYMBINET components.
Implementation of predictive algorithms. Development of matching algorithms between supply and demand based on the information entered in specific forms.
Creation of demonstrators, which aimed to exemplify industrial symbiosis actions, as well as to test the different functionalities that the SYMBINET portal could offer.
Tool that allows users to assess the sustainability of industrial symbiosis practices that have been identified as possible through the SYMBINET platform.
