IVACE – AINIA Non-economic Activity Plan for 2019

AINIA Non-economic Activity Plan for 2019
6 May, 2019

Objective

Strengthening AINIA’s activity and capacity to develop excellence in R&D.
The context facing the food sector in the coming years is shaped by the expected population growth, which will bring with it increased demand for food and, at the same time, a scarcity of resources. This, together with climate change, will have an impact on the sector, especially in terms of agricultural production.

In this situation, industry will need to seek new alternatives, and the response is being focused on technological innovation, placing greater emphasis on production efficiency, the development of new products and research into new protein sources, as well as food safety and sustainability.

AINIA must position itself as a flexible organisation capable of adapting to the demands of the new market, which requires complex solutions.

The thematic priorities of the lines included in this Plan fall within several development axes of the RIS3-CV, mainly in the agri-food sector and specifically within QUALITY OF LIFE:

A. Position the Comunitat Valenciana as a global benchmark in the production of healthy, high-quality food and cosmetics, geared towards people’s needs.
B. Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the agri-food production system through the development and use of technology.
C. Become a benchmark in the sustainable production of food, cosmetics and household products, taking into account economic and environmental factors and the appropriate use of natural resources.
I. Develop personalised consumer products that incorporate added value through differentiated design and features, responding to the individual needs of companies.
J. Incorporate more efficient, sustainable and competitive processes and materials.
