Ensures brand positioning and consumer trust.
Food fraud is a general term used to encompass the deliberate and intentional substitution, addition, manipulation or misleading presentation of food, food ingredients or food packaging; or false and misleading claims made about a product for economic gain.
Incidents related to food fraud can occur under a wide variety of circumstances, although they are generally associated with labelling, advertising, presentation and packaging when consumers are misled. Therefore, food fraud prevention is addressed through a holistic approach.
