Smart Grading, Handling and Packaging Solutions for Soft and Deformable Products in Agile and Reconfigurable Lines

Objective

AGILEHAND aims to develop advanced technologies for the autonomous grading, handling and packaging of soft and deformable products, as a strategic instrument to improve the flexibility, agility and reconfigurability of production and logistics systems in European manufacturing companies, and to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of robots in handling various objects such as food, clothing, bottles or plastic items. AGILEHAND solutions will be demonstrated in 4 industrial pilots that differ in surface characteristics, deformability and consistency of the products to be handled.

 

Activities

  1. SMART SENSING SUITE, self-calibrated sensing solutions to assess the quality (both internal and external) of delicate objects and produce a mesh of integrated and overlapping sensors that will improve the traceability, agility and reconfigurability of the production line.
  2. SELF-ADAPTIVE HANDLING, SORTING AND PACKAGING SUITE, robotic handling systems that react to product quality and can pick and reorient different soft and deformable products without causing damage to the product, considering collaborative approaches (humans in the loop).
  3. AGILE, FLEXIBLE AND RAPID RECONFIGURABLE SUITE, a set of AI-based solutions that will enable monitoring, adaptive control and synchronisation of production and logistics flows in a factory, even in the face of product variability, production mix or fresh market conditions, ensuring high performance in customer response time and efficient use of resources.
