Consellería d’Educació, Investigació, Cultura i Esport -> MeetingPack 2019
15 April, 2019

Objective

Organisation and dissemination of the MeetingPack 2019 congress.

By 2030, all plastic packaging on the EU market must be reusable or recyclable. Achieving this objective opens up a period of change and an unprecedented boost to technological innovation in the packaging, distribution and consumer goods sectors.

Considering aspects such as safety, shelf life, convenience, costs and sustainability in packaging is the challenge currently facing companies, and MeetingPack 2019 will provide a response to this.

MeetingPack 2019 will address, through the experience of around thirty national and international speakers selected for the level and value of their innovations and technological solutions, the five main sustainability and safety challenges that the value chain of plastic packaging for food and beverages will face, namely:

Disruptive innovations in new high-performance sustainable materials.

Sustainable films, sheets and trays: new multilayer materials and the guarantee of preservation and shelf life for those using monolayer materials.

Injection-moulded packaging with lower environmental impact.

The value of ecodesign: how design enables progress in reducing materials, reusing and recycling packaging.

The logistics challenge: sustainable packaging and distribution chains.

In addition, innovative barrier solutions will be presented, integrated into new types of biopolymers, bio-based and compostable materials, recycled materials and coatings. The latest multilayer and monolayer packaging with barrier properties, films, sheets and trays developed under sustainability criteria will also be showcased.
