To this end, the aim is to assess, in a first phase, the differences between the spectral fingerprints of healthy cells and tumour cells. Subsequently, prototypes will be developed to support rapid diagnosis by integrating photonic sensors with scanning tools that allow patient tissue to be explored quickly and non-invasively, using external probes for the exploration of epidermal tissue and internal probes for the exploration of tissues in intracorporeal cavities (colonoscopes or endoscopes). These prototypes will be used in hospital trials in coordination with the endoscopy units of the Digestive Diseases Department of La Fe and with the Dermatology Department of the IVO.   <\/p>\n<p>This project aims to research, develop and assess prototypes using fast and harmless optical technologies that can be applied to the early detection of tumour diseases, with the objective of providing diagnostic tools to medical professionals that may help reduce the mortality rate thanks to faster diagnosis. To this end, the project draws on AINIA\u2019s capabilities and experience in photonic technologies and its collaboration with research groups in the medical field from the La Fe Health Research Institute and the Valencian Institute of Oncology. This project aims to generate scientific knowledge on the capacity of photonic technologies to differentiate between healthy human tissues and human tissues affected by pathologies such as certain types of tumours.
