Regulation (EU) 2025\/2455<\/strong>, which establishes a common data platform on chemical substances<\/strong>, to be managed by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA)<\/strong>, ensuring that chemical data are findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR principles)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

Regulation (EU) 2025\/2457<\/strong>, which amends core legislation (Regulations (EC) No 178\/2002<\/strong>, (EC) No 401\/2009<\/strong>, (EU) 2017\/745<\/strong> and (EU) 2019\/1021<\/strong>) to strengthen scientific cooperation between agencies<\/strong> and prevent inconsistent scientific opinions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Both regulations pursue a shared objective: more coherent, efficient and transparent risk assessments<\/strong>, reducing duplication and increasing public trust.<\/p>\n
Common data platform: towards an integrated digital ecosystem<\/strong><\/h2>\n
Regulation (EU) 2025\/2455 establishes a digital infrastructure<\/strong> to centralise chemical substance information generated across the EU. The common data platform and its dedicated services must be operational by 2 January 2029 at the latest<\/strong>, and will incorporate:<\/p>\n

Regulatory data<\/strong>: dossiers submitted under REACH<\/strong>, CLP<\/strong>, Biocidal Products<\/strong>, Plant Protection Products<\/strong>, Food Contact Materials<\/strong>, Food Additives<\/strong> and Novel Foods<\/strong> legislation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
