In 1975, a group of Spanish citrus cooperatives joined forces to expand their product range, reach new markets and improve their negotiating position with large-scale retailers. This marked the birth of Anecoop<\/strong>, a company that brings together 73 cooperatives and associated companies<\/strong>, and which has become the leading fruit and vegetable group in the Mediterranean area. <\/p>\n

Grupo Anecoop<\/strong> brings together companies whose activity ranges from research through to product delivery at the point of sale. In this context, AINIA and Anecoop have collaborated on projects such as Idrone<\/a> and CERES<\/a>, in which demonstrative precision agriculture models<\/strong> were developed to facilitate fieldwork and optimise crops. <\/p>\n

We spoke with the Project Coordinator at ANECOOP<\/strong>, Nicol\u00e1s Juste<\/strong>, to learn more about the background and challenges of this agricultural organisation.<\/p>\n
